The Maltese Falcon (1941)
One wouldnt have too much about John Huston. You would have heard of him for this movie though. Touted as the greatest detective movie ever made, this was quite a good watch and a good change from the hitchock style of movie making. Quite refreshing except that I found the dialouge quite convoluted at times and the story line hard to follow because of it. But its a very well executed movie. An unsual main character, and interestingly put up. Worth watching.
Btw, John Huston has directed movie names you might remember from recent past: Casino Royale (1967) and Moulin Rouge (1952), and has also acted in a tv version of The Hobbit (1977). Still looking forward to catch The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
