The Color Purple (1985)

Its a Spielberg movie that people sometimes miss. But a critically well known movie, gave manj and me a lot of good vibrations while watching the movie. An epic tale thats really well done.

"The Color Purple is actually an epistolary novel. The film follows the life of a poor African American girl, Celie (Goldberg), whose abuse begins when she is young.

The film was nominated for 11 oscars (including Best Picture, Best Actress for Goldberg and Best Supporting Actress for both Avery and Winfrey) but saw none of them awarded.
